Across the country, there are hundreds of Down syndrome studies taking place to establish a scientific link between Down syndrome and Alzheimer’s disease. The U.S. Department of Labor awarded $10.5 million to four states (Connecticut Department of Labor, Kansas Department of Commerce, Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development and the New York Department of Labor) for cooperative agreements helping youth with disabilities transition into the workforce.
